I got it! I managed to get good, soft hand dyed cotton that spins like a dream in the charkha.
It came out of the dye process spinable for a flyer wheel, but a bit too compacted to draft smoothly on a charkha. I’ve spent a few weeks refining my process and figured out the secret.
The hanks in the middle have companion wool braids. Look for the cotton to go in the shop as soon as I can get sone good pictures. The wool I’m dyeing now is for my March 12th class at Nice Threads Gallery
but I’ll have more for the store soon.
