Unicorn Fibre Products now available

I know I’m a bit late to this party. I can be as bad as anyone to get set in my ways and resist change. These products have been reappearing in my life with increasing frequency culminating in a recommendation from Deb Robson, author of The Fleece and Fiber Sourcebook.

So I decided to try them. I had a few samples on hand and did some experiments. I like what I saw.

The brief results of my side by side challenge with Dawn on 1 lb of a nice greasy Rambo fleece :

Test                                                             Unicorn Power Scour                                   Dawn

Number of washes                                              3                                                                    5

Amount / wash                                                    1 oz                                                              4 oz

water temp                                                            140                                                               160

cost per oz                                                              $0.98                                                          $0.18

total amount used                                                3 oz                                                              20 oz

Cost  / lb                                                                   $2.94                                                          $3.60

This cost doesn’t take into account the savings from lower water temps and less water needed.

A fiber friend shared her concerns with me over  the product, so I did a lot of digging and research on the product and the company. The more I learned the more I liked it.

So, you can find all three products in the store here and in my Etsy shop. I’ll send samples to anyone who asks. You can also down load all the washing and use guides on the product pages. I hope you all like it as much as I do.
